A sick note, also known as a Fit Note or medical certificate, is an official document confirming that a patient is unable to work, study or carry out normal duties due to a medical condition.

Types of Malaria Tablets We May Prescribe

Common Symptoms of Malaria

Atovaquone/Proguanil (Malarone)

A daily tablet commonly chosen for short trips and often well tolerated. Usually started 1–2 days before travel and continued for 7 days after return.

Doxycycline

A daily antibiotic that also offers some protection against additional bacterial infections. Can increase sun sensitivity in some travellers.

Mefloquine (Lariam)

A weekly malaria tablet suitable for some longer trips but not recommended for individuals with certain mental health conditions.

The most suitable medication depends on destination-specific resistance patterns, pregnancy status, medical history and other medications being taken.

We regularly provide pregnancy Fit To Fly certificates following medical assessment.

If you are pregnant and travelling, you may need documentation confirming:

Please bring: Patients attending for pregnancy travel certificates should bring their maternity or midwife notes to the appointment.

If you have recently recovered from COVID-19, we may be able to issue a Fit To Fly certificate confirming you are medically fit to travel.

Although physiotherapy treatments are not delivered directly on-site at our clinic, we provide seamless referrals through our helping patients access expert care with clear clinical communication and continuity of treatment.

Our clinic in Standish also offers cosmetic dermatology treatments for common skin concerns that are not usually covered by the NHS unless they affect your overall health.
