What is a Pessary Replacement?

A pessary is a removable medical device placed inside the vagina to help support pelvic organs affected by pelvic organ prolapse. Regular pessary replacement and monitoring help reduce discomfort, maintain hygiene and ensure the device continues to fit correctly.

Common Symptoms of Malaria

Atovaquone/Proguanil (Malarone)

A daily tablet commonly chosen for short trips and often well tolerated. Usually started 1–2 days before travel and continued for 7 days after return.

Doxycycline

A daily antibiotic that also offers some protection against additional bacterial infections. Can increase sun sensitivity in some travellers.

Mefloquine (Lariam)

A weekly malaria tablet suitable for some longer trips but not recommended for individuals with certain mental health conditions.
